The best beaches that the Rías Baixas region has to offer are less than 30km away. There are beaches that offer something for everyone: small coves, long sandy beaches, natural beaches, beaches with a more urban feel, accessible beaches, nudist beaches and of course Blue Flag beaches. The borough even offers freshwater beaches including the fluvial beach in Pontevedra situated on the river Lérez and the Verdugo River beach in Ponte Sampaio.
If you stay in the city you can take advantage of one of the many beaches along the estuary on both its north and south side. The beaches of Poio are only 5km away while those situated in Marín are 8km away. If you do not have your own vehicle, you can get one of two lines at Pontevedra’s bus station with departures every 30m (approx) that run along both sides of the estuary with stops at the most important beaches.
