The Pilgrim Virgin is the patroness of all the province and the Portuguese Way to Santiago.
The day of the Pilgrim Virgin is celebrated the second Sunday of August, but really the reading of the proclamation the day before gives the starting gun to a big week of celebrations, highlighting this day the great shot of fireworks that takes place at the seafront .
For seven days the city is bustling with people, and music and entertainment inundate the historic downtown squares that become the perfect setting for concerts and shows, highlighting those held daily and free of charge at the Spain Square and Teucro Square.
Stands out the celebration of bullfighting.
Another of the most popular and crowded events is the Battle of Flowers with the participation of floats, folk groups and bands. The festival is completed by religious events as the floral offering to the Virgin and the procession.
