Text : Today, this square is known as Plaza de la Cultura (Square of the Culture) because of the contents it was given. The collection of sculptures situated in the square includes some of the most distinguished figures who lived in the city, like Castelao, Bóveda, Carlos Casar, Valentín Paz Andrade, and Ramón Cabanillas, with the musician Manuel Quiroga playing the violin, all of them as if they were in a social gathering. Here you can find two important cultural centers: the Centro Cultural Caixanova and the emblematic Café Moderno, headquarters of the foundation Caja Galicia.
