Text : Named after the street market that took place every morning here. This market sold vegetables, fruits and chestnuts. In the 19th century, the electricity factory was installed in this square, and Pontevedra became one of the fist Spanish cities to have this service. The buildings surrounding the square are remarkable for their arcades with typical taverns. You will also find a fountain just like the one in the Praza de Curros Enríquez.
